This lipstick brings out the color in her eyes

I just got home from dinner at my friends' Joanne and Mark's home. We had a great dinner. They kept Maelee over night. They begged to keep Delana, but like a fool, I said no. They did give Delana a bath for me. She was so clean and I knew she would go straight to sleep when we got home. So we came home and I was searching for her jammies when she disappeared. Then she came crawling up from downstairs and she looked a little different. She was covered in the lipstick that I had caught Maelee with earlier that I had asked Maelee to give back to me. Maelee is very lucky she is not here because she is the one that would have been in trouble. Delana is such a handful. I should have just left her!!! And the worst part is that this is a brand new shirt that her Aunt Christen just gave her. It is the first time she is wearing. And when I washed off all of the make up there was permanent black marker under all of that. She works so fast. I was so nervous to go to the basement and check out the damage there...it surprisingly was not that bad. She kept it just on her.

Sometimes I go to this Mary Kay training with my friend Karen and I let them do make overs on me and then all of the Mary Kay ladies out there have to guess what color lipstick I am wearing. So to all Mary Kay sales consultants.......Do you know what color she is wearing? I think it is a great color on her. It really brings out the color in her eyes.

Maelee...Future Party Planner

My little Maelee is the biggest social butterfly. She is the queen of the neighborhood and friends with everyone. She came to me last week and asked if she could have a party. She wanted to have it that very night. And she did not ask me until 6pm. She wanted to me to, in her own words, "do some cookin' in the backyard" I told her it was too late for something like that, but that she could have some friends over for some snacks and games in the backyard. She worked very hard and took chairs to the backyard, got out snacks, and gathered all the neighborhood kids. After only 15 minutes of being in the backyard she came in crying and said, "this is the most boring party EVER!" She was so sad. I told her that throwing a good party takes some planning. So she did some planning and threw another party last night. She did it all. She came up with the menu, games, costumes, goody bags, and invitations. The party happened last night and we all had a great time. She even put on music in the backyard and the kids danced and danced. (the soundtrack to this party was the Happy Feet Soundtrack Song #2 on CD, over and over and over for two hours straight.)

In Love With a Boy

I love this boy so much! I call him a boy and not a man because that is what he is and I love him for it. He is my boy because I robbed the cradle and he is three years younger than me. So when we got married he was only 20. As my mother said when I told her we wanted to get married, "but he is just a baby." Maelee thinks it is so wierd that he is younger. It is funny that at 6 she has a concept of age. When we were flying home from AZ, just me and the girs (scott did not make it this trip), there was a really nice woman helping us on the plane. Her and Maelee were talking and she started telling that woman that her mommy is very old. "My mom is 31. She is very old." The funnier part is what she said next, "and my dad is very young. He is only 22." I hushed her up really fast and explained to the woman that he really was not that young, younger than me, but not 22 years old. By then the woman was laughing and I think she was trying to figure out who to believe. Scott gives me hard time about my age. He laughs at the fact that I am in my 30's now. He will be there soon, and when I tell him that he reminds me that I will still be closer to 40 then he is. I am sure this will go in forever....we will be talking about it into our 50's and 60's and 70's and hopefully longer.

This week I emailed him my link to my blog. He had never seen it before. He is not home much these days so I figured this may be the best way for him to know what goes on around here. When I asked him if he read it he said, "I was supposed to read it?" He did let me know he atleast looked at the pics. But honey if you are reading this, I LOVE YOU and all of your boyish charm. (who wouldn't love a boy with lips like his)

One Nation Under God

My niece Tiffany shared this with me and I wanted to pass it on.

One Nation, 'Under God'.

One day a 6 year old girl was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was going to explain evolution to the children.
The teacher asked a little boy: Tommy do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky.
TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky.
TEACHER: Did you see God up there?
TOMMY: No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. Possibly he just doesn't exist.

A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions. The teacher agreed and the little girl asked the boy:
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the teacher?
TOMMY: Yes
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today in school, she possibly may not even have one!

Ready for Potty Training

I am so proud of Delana. She just went on the potty for the first time. She has been very aware of her bodily functions for quite a while. One of her first words was Ca Ca. She came to me at 18 months holding her diaper and told me "ca ca" So just right now I looked at her and I could tell she needed to go.....she got that blank look on her face. So I swopped her up as fast as my broken foot would let me and put her on the potty and she went. She was so proud of her self. While she was on the potty Maelee walked in with all of the neighbor kids (6 kids in total). Our front door is right by our bathroom door so they all saw her do it. and they all cheered her on. I will need to go out and get her some pull ups.

Delana's First Haircut

Maelee gave Delana her first haircut. We had just gotten back from vacation. While visiting my mom she tried cutting Delana's bangs. I had to keep an eye on her and make sure she stayed away from her with those scissors. My mom is a BIG BANG person....litterally. She loves bangs and she loves them big! I remembered when she combed all of Maelee's hair forward and cut it all into bangs, and I did not want that for Delana. But my mom kept complaining about Delana's hair in her face for most of the trip. Maelee overheard our conversation. So one night last week Scott and I were laying in bed and Delana and Maelee were in our bathroom playing around.....I thought probably in my makeup. They were giggling and laughing like they always do. Then all of the sudden Maelee and Delana came out....I did not look at them but I remember Maelee saying, "okay we are going to bed. good night." She hurried off and she let me know that Delana would be sleeping in her room so that I did not have to put her in her crib. I went in to tuck them in and try to get Delana out of Maelee's room because I knew Maelee's plan of a sleep over with her sister would never work. So I when I picked up Delana I thought she looked different so I looked closer and She had big bangs and a mullet!!! I laughed and cried. I asked Maelee why and she told me because Grandma said we needed to see Delana's face better. So thank you Grandma. She alway gets her way!

Delana is wearing a dress that was originally owned by my big sister Cheryl.
This is three of my older siblings....Chuk, Christen, and Cheryl (I had a blast at my family's houses scanning and scanning. I got some really really great pics! I can't wait to go back and get more.)

More About Templates

Heritage Makers has a wonderful desing team that has designed some really great templates. As a consultant we have monthly incentives, which include a paycheck of coarse, free products, and free templates to share with our clients. I usually earn two or more company templates a month. I used to never pay much attention to them, but lately they have really released some BEAUTIFUL templates with wonderful themes.

I just wanted to share these because believe it or not, Christmas is around the corner. This will be my fourth Christmas with Heritage Makers. The luckiest people in the world are those that receive a Heritage Makers book under the tree for Christmas. I love the month or two after Christmas when I hear from my customers the reaction their family had to their storybooks. Such special memories captured and shared and then they generate even more memories and stories.....it is a wonderful addiction!.....storybooking!

Not gone inactive...just got back from vacation

A friend of mine, Sabra (sometimes I think she is the only one that reads this anyways), asked me if I have gone inactive on my blog or what was going on? I just got back from a two week long vacation to Disneyland and to visit my family in AZ. Now I am home and just sorting through my pictures and also trying to catch up with work. I have quite a few books I am working on for customers as well as trying frantically to meet an August 20th deadline of submitting templates I have made to Heritage Makers. You can view some of them here or here is my latest (I plan to use this template for my family reunion we had). I am hoping they accept some of my templates and will pay me for them. They are planning to launch a creative center where thousands of customers will be able to pick out templates.

So I am still alive, and I survived my trip alone on the plane with two crazy girls and a broken foot in a cast. I had a blast and when I get the template situation under control I will post some great pics of my vacation. Here is one for now. This is the first time all 17 of my parents grandchildren have ever been together. They range from age 20 years to 20 months. We had a family reunion on my birthday. All five of us siblings together. This was the best birthday EVER!!!!!!

(I don't know why this picture is so pixelated in this view, if you click on it you can see it much much clearer)
